Mangoes
"As a kid, we used to visit "You Pick" farms for apples and peaches, so when I think of fruit on a tree, I picture the way apples and peaches grow... tight little bunches next to the main stem so high up that I need a ladder to reach. As we parked at Mayfield Falls our driver pointed out a mango tree, so I instinctively looked up for the fruit. After a few moments of searching the empty leaves my eyes followed the long tendrils down and there I saw the fruit, dangling at the bottom. It looked strange to me, like the fruit tree had been invaded by some kind of parasitic vine plant. When I walked under the tree most of the fruit was at my eye level or below."
