Limahuli Stream on the northern end of Kauai. This stream is hidden within a dark forested area near the Napali coastline. I ventured in along the shoreline, carefully picking my way along the tree roots and slippery rocks, to set up my tripod just at the water's edge near a small set of waterfalls. I chose to use my shutter's remote control so as to capture a long exposure without shaking the camera. At one point I accidentally tapped my tripod with my elbow and watched in slow motion as my camera began to tip towards the water. I instinctively grabbed for the tripod's center post, saving my camera but chucking my camera's remote into the drink below.
Thankfully I had a back-up remote packed in my gear back at our condo, so all was not lost. It was a small price to pay to save my gear.
