Plastic Twin-Lens Reflex
My Twin Lens Reflex camera came from a kit which was given to me by my husband. The kit originated in Japan and came with all the parts necessary to build a plastic 35mm twin lens reflex camera, and one set of somewhat poorly translated building directions. Building a camera with a functioning spring shutter was a fun challenge. I enjoyed the somewhat warped soft focus of the plastic lens, and the way the films I used picked up the colors of the scenes. Unfortunately, the interior of the lens box is so reflective it causes an unpredictable light leak which renders more than half my images unusable, so I’ve reluctantly shelved this camera for the time being.
