Kodak Brownie Hawkeyes were produced in the 1950’s and were wildly popular consumer cameras. They are light weight, simple to use, and can produce fantastic images. I picked up my Kodak Brownie Hawkeye at an annual camera swap in the spring of 2018. Perhaps the most amazing thing about the condition of my camera is that the original handle is still in fantastic shape. The lens is clear and the shutter is snappy. The camera takes 620 film (requiring me to hand-roll my film onto 620 spools) and produces 6cm x 6cm size negatives. I enjoy shooting with this camera because the square format gives me a different perspective on my subjects.
