Common Myna

Common Myna

The high pitched call of the Common Myna can be heard in pretty much any populated area on the island of Kauai. They were introduced to the island around 1865 in an effort to control army worms in pasture lands. This Myna was posturing on the beach of Hanalei, checking to see if we would offer up any food.
